Capacity building of national ESCOs in energy audits and improved energy management of buildings

Mali is facing an energy crisis marked by a high dependence on fossil fuels, a growing demand for electricity and limited energy efficiency, particularly in the building sector. Excessive energy consumption, combined with a pressurized electricity grid, has a negative impact on economic development and access to stable energy.

To meet these challenges, the CTCN's technical assistance aims to strengthen the capacities of ten ESCOs through certification training, the acquisition of specialized tools and the implementation of energy audits in public and private buildings. This initiative will identify and implement suitable energy efficiency solutions, optimize resource management and promote sustainable practices.

Ultimately, the project will help reduce energy consumption, free up a considerable amount of electricity, strengthen access to energy and support Mali's energy transition by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
