The Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), as part of the Incubator Programme, held national consultations on 28-29 January in Kathmandu. The meetings were organized by CTCN Consortium Partner The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) together with National Designated Entity in Nepal (Mr. Ram Hari Pantha) and UNEP.
The national consultations aim at identifying possible requests to submit to the CTCN. Consultation in Nepal was divided into two sessions. First session was devoted to energy sector and second session focused on Forestry sector. Participants included representatives from government, private sector, civil society and academic/research organizations.
The Incubator Programme is designed to help Least Developed Countries (LDCs) best benefit from CTCN technical assistance requests by providing tailored support in identifying technology priorities and developing technical assistance requests within the context of existing national strategies in order to catalyse actions on climate technologies.
CTCN is implementing the Incubator Programme in 13 countries (Bangladesh, Benin, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Guinea, Malawi, Mali, Nepal, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania and Uganda).
