Johana Kunin holds a PhD in Social Anthropology (EHESS, France & IDAES/UNSAM, Argentina). She isa Tenured Researcher at Argentine National Center for Scientific Research CONICET (Strategic Issues: Environment Commission). She holds a Master's in International Studies (Universidad Torcuato Di Tella) and a Social Anthropology Bachelor's Degree (Licence en Ethnologie, Université Paris 8, France). She is an Associate Professor in Anthropology at UNSAM. She has published and presented her work in several national and international publications and conferences. She is currently describing and analyzing how people and communities negotiate the tensions between economic prosperity and environmental and health impacts and what the practices, ideas, and feelings underlying agricultural biotechnology can tell us about contemporary agriculture and our tense relationship with nature. For her doctoral dissertation, she investigated the relationship between social organization of care, power and agency of women producing agroecologically in the Argentine Pampas. She was a consultant for the UN's ECLAC and for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina. She was a research fellow at CLACSO and CONICET.
