Agronomist and Rural Engineer graduated from Hassan II Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine Institute (IAV) in 1994, I am a senior specialist in water resources and irrigation management and currently working as an independent consultant, expert for international organizations (World Bank, AFD, IWMI), member of the FAO Roster of Experts and Mediterranean Coordinator of the Scientific and Technical Committee for Agricultural Water (COSTEA) at AFD.
I have dedicated my career to advancing sustainable agrifood systems and efficient water resource use while advocating for sustainable water management practices. With my 28 years working in the Ministry of Agriculture of Morocco and as a former lecturer-researcher at IAV Hassan II, I built a solid experience in the field of integrated water resources management, agricultural water management, irrigation project design, development and assessment, wastewater reuse, agriculture advisory and mentoring of agriculture cooperatives and WUAs. I also contributed to several Moroccan strategies on water and agriculture, expertise, and R&D projects on the following topics: irrigation systems management and planning, water accounting, water governance, evaluation of water and agriculture projects and programs, training engineering, rural engineering, design of irrigation projects, and water & agriculture regulation legislation.
