Dzintars Jaunzems is an accomplished professional in the energy sector with over 15 years of experience in energy planning and climate policy. He holds a PhD in Engineering Sciences from Riga Technical University (RTU), where he has been an Assistant Professor since 2007.

Professionally, Dzintars serves as an Advisor for Energy and Climate Policy at Latvijas Banka since April 2022. His expertise includes energy efficiency, energy supply, and the transition towards climate neutrality. He has also held leadership roles such as Director at RenEsco and Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Municipal JSC “Daugavpils siltumtīkli” (www.dsiltumtikli.lv) and JSC BALVU ENERĢIJA (www.balvuenergija.lv).

Dzintars has contributed significantly to the academic field, specializing in environmental science, renewable energy, and sustainable development. He has also been involved in international education, arranging study courses at the other universities (for example, in Finland, Kosova, Sweden, Kazahstan).
