Akinyi Chemutai is an Environmentalist focused on restoration, circular economy, climate resilience, renewable energy and ESG (Environment, Social and Governance). For six years, she has been a strategic and analytical Manager with extensive experience coordinating the technical and financial aspects of projects in the sector and a complementary background managing projects in sustainability and circularity roles. She is skilled in data-driven needs assessments, grant-based program implementation, and ongoing evaluation.
She is the Grant Manager for d.light, responsible for managing and providing visibility on grant efforts across Africa to improve opportunities for d.light. Alongside d.light, she is the East Africa Lead for Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE), advocating the advancement of the role and recognition of women & other under-represented groups working in the renewable energy sector.
As a Director of Kijani Resilience and Co-Coordinator of the GLFx Nairobi chapter, I focus on climate resilience programs and landscape restoration and advocate for the urgency for sustainable landscapes through youth and women leadership; she believes in sustainability that combines conservation, development, knowledge and community.
As an Environmental Consultant, she is on a mission to demystify sustainability and climate change mitigation. She has focused on bringing clarity, impact-based solutions and practical roadmaps to companies and organisations with a mission to further their positive impact on the planet and society.
