Selected secondees, representing the Centre’s Network, National Designated Entities, Consortium partner, and/or CTCN donor institutions are invited to participate in the work of the CTCN Secretariat in Copenhagen, Denmark for a period of at least 6 months in one of the two fields below:
- Supporting the Technical assistance team with climate change adaptation projects
- Supporting the Network and capacity building team
“CTCN builds strong networks for future collaboration and knowledge exchange. With more than 260 network partners all over the world, we build bridges between technology solution providers and countries’ identified technology needs. CTCN’s Secondment Programme provides a great platform for network members and partners to be exposed to a different working environment with people from varied cultural backgrounds while deepening their knowledge and understanding of how it operates”, says CTCN Director Jukka Uosukainen.
The purpose of the programme is to expand the CTCN’s abilities to respond to developing country needs by utilizing the expertise within its network of partners, to give partner organizations hands-on experience with the work in the global climate community, and to foster inter-regional and inter-cultural exchange and collaboration.
Who should apply?
The programme is open to applicants currently employed with a CTCN partner institution (Network members, National Designated Entities, Consortium Partners, and/or CTCN donors). Applicants should be interested to apply their expertise in a new setting, motivated to integrate in an international team, willing to learn and pro-actively engage when it comes to developing climate friendly technology interventions in developing countries. The specific educational and professional requirements are outlined in the job descriptions. Both gender and geographical balance will be considered in the selection process. For details concerning cost and logistical support during the programme, please read the Terms of Reference.

Selection process and travel preparation
Candidates will be notified whether or not they have been selected for a 30 minute Skype or telephone interview. Interviews are then scheduled and a maximum of two candidates will receive an invitation to participate in the programme.
With the invitation comes a previously agreed starting date and duration of the secondment. As soon as these are confirmed in written form, UNIDO will provide a contract. The candidate will then receive guidance in preparation for their travel and stay in Copenhagen, and be asked to immediately prepare all relevant travel documents (visa) and arrangements. All other conditions of the programme, including financial implications, are stipulated in the Terms of Reference.
