CTCN welcomes you to attend the virtual launch of AFCIA II, the second phase of the Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA I) programme.
Under AFCIA II, we are delighted to announce that USD 10 million is available to support climate change adaptation, funded by the Adaptation Fund and implemented by CTCN.
Over the next months, we will be looking to source 60 adaptation projects in total. These will include: 40 using climate adaptation technologies, 10 in national systems of innovation, and 10 projects that are scaling up technologies currently in a pilot phase (Three concept notes will be included in the 60).
We will start sourcing the projects immediately and applications are open to all developing countries. Please join one of four webinars in October to learn the eligibility details and selection criteria.
Objectives of AFCIA II:
AFCIA II's primary objective is to support countries to test, scale up and leverage innovative, transformative, and locally-led climate adaptation technologies across the technology cycle and anchor these into National Systems of Innovation.
This contains several activities, including to:
- Encourage, test, and demonstrate climate adaptation technology innovation across technology development stages and sectors.
- Scale up high-impact adaptation technology innovation for accelerated impact.
- Create a favourable enabling environment for continuous innovation capacities.
-
Share knowledge and build capacity on adaptation technologies, including promoting digital public goods through CTCN’s platform.
Eligibility:
The AFCIA II programme is accessible to actors and organizations in developing countries. We hope to receive requests from, universities, research centers, think tanks, NGOs, governmental bodies and private sector companies, and any other entity which wishes to contribute to this important mission.
