The 2023 Latin America and the Caribbean Climate Week (LACCW) is set to take place from October 23rd to 27th, 2023, in Panama, and will be hosted by the Government of Panama.
LACCW 2023 serves as a vital platform for policymakers, practitioners, businesses, and civil society to come together and engage in discussions about climate solutions, identifying challenges, and seizing opportunities. This event will run concurrently with:
- XXIII Meeting of the Forum of Ministers of Environment of Latin America and the Caribbean, 24-26 October 2023;
- CTCN Latin America and the Caribbean NDE Forum 2023 System Transformation through Climate Technology Transfer, 24-27 October 2023;

System Transformation through Climate Technology Transfer, 24-27 October 2023
CTCN organizes Regional Forums for the National Designated Entities (NDEs) on an annual basis, gathering together NDEs, selected Advisory Board (AB) and Technology Executive Committee (TEC) Members, network members, and other stakeholders. This year, CTCN has structured its regional Forums according to the five system transformation areas of the CTCN 3rd Programme of Work:
- Water-Food-Energy Nexus
- Building and Infrastructure
- Sustainable Mobility
- Energy Systems
- Business and Industry
and two enablers for system transformation:
- National Systems of Innovation
- Digitalization
The Latin America and the Caribbean NDE Forum's programme includes:
- Update on CTCN 2023 activities, and plans for 2024, and exhibit the latest development of CTCN services to developing countries in the region.
- Update on the TEC implementation plan for 2023-2024, its activities and deliverables and opportunities for engagement.
- Discussion on previous/potential technical assistant project ideas of each system transformation area of the PoW for Latin America and the Caribbean region.
- Reflection on opportunities to build South-South or North-South collaborative RD&D and investment that co-benefits national and global climate change action.
- Linkages between CTCN technical assistance and the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and other financial mechanisms, such as the Adaptation Fund, the Global Environment Facility (GEF) or NDC Partnership, relevant to climate technologies.
