The regional climate weeks are critical milestones in high level discussion to advance regional climate action. They support implementation of countries’ Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement and climate action to deliver on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, ahead of the September 2020 global deadline for countries to submit their updated NDCs. The CTCN will organize the Regional Forum for its NDEs on 20-21 April 2020 as part of the Africa Climate Week. More information on the Africa Climate Week is availabe here: https://unfccc.int/ACW.
CTCN will be inviting NDEs representatives from all African Countries and other selected strategic partners driving the climate technology transfer agenda in the region. The Centre will use this forum to empower the African NDEs on how best to utilize the Technology Mechanism and most especially the guidance from the Technology Framework to meet their climate objectives by enhancing climate resilience and adoption of a low carbon pathway.
