Events facts
Date: Tuesday, 18.11.2025, from 10.00-11.00 am (Brasilia time) (in-person only, for invited NDEs and government climate experts and corporations)
Venue: Swedish Pavilion (located in the Blue Zone)
Background:
As the urgency for climate action intensifies, innovative technologies and effective knowledge transfer are critical to achieving a low-carbon, climate-resilient future. Even though many innovative technologies to mitigate GHG emissions and adapt to climate change are available, many of these technologies have not yet reached developing countries.
The private sector is a key driver of innovation and instrumental in advancing the targets of the Paris Agreement. Swedish companies lead in climate technology and offer valuable solutions and expertise for global adoption. The CTCN facilitates connections between countries and climate technology solutions through its network. It expedites the development and transfer of technology and knowledge for low-carbon and climate-resilient initiatives at the request of its 164 governmental focal points in developing countries.
This event will facilitate a Matchmaking environment, starting with a brief moderated session with short interventions by speakers (see below). Participants are then invited to mingle at different stations representing various industrial/technical sectors to identify common interests.
Speakers:
-Swedish Head to UNFCCC and Sweden’s Climate Ambassador, Mattias Frumiere
-Director General for the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA), Kurt Vandenberghe
-UN CTCN Director, Ariesta Ningrum
