Africa Climate Week 2023

The 2023 edition of the Africa Climate Week 2023 (ACW) will be held from 4-8 September 2023 in Nairobi, and hosted by the government of Kenya.  ACW 2023 will be organized in parallel with:

• The Africa Climate Summit, 4-6 September 2023 
• The Africa National Designated Entity (NDE) Forum 2023, System Transformation through Climate Technology Transfer, 5-7 September 2023
• GCF Private Investment for Climate Conference 2023, From investment to impacts, 4-5 September 2023

The Technology Mechanism will be leading and contributing to several sessions, and will be available for biliteral and multilateral meetings throughtout the week.

The Africa National Designated Entity (NDE) Forum 2023

System Transformation through Climate Technology Transfer, 5-7* September 2023

CTCN organizes Regional Forums for the National Designated Entities (NDEs) on an annual basis, gathering together NDEs, selected AB and TEC Members, network members, and other stakeholders. This year, CTCN has structured its regional Forums according to the five system transformation areas of the CTCN 3rd Programme of Work:

1. Water-Food-Energy Nexus
2. Building and Infrastructure
3. Sustainable Mobility
4. Energy Systems
5. Business and Industry

And two enablers for system transformation:

1. National Systems of Innovation
2. Digitalization

First of the series, the Africa NDE Forum's programme includes:

• CTCN and TEC activities and outlook for 2023-2024
• Case studies across all five system transformation areas and two enablers
• A special session on Artificial Intelligence for Climate Action #AI4ClimateAction
• A deep dive on Projects' pipeline, including Planned Multi-country  and Programmatic Regional Technical Assistance projects

(*) The NDE Forum 2023 will take place at the UN Campus (UNON) between the 5th and 7th September and will end with a TEC meeting on 8th September to be held at the Kenyatta International Conference Convention Centre (KICC).
