Evaluation of the possibility to use the existing system of landfill gas collection at Trostinets as a model for Soligorsk landfill. This project is apt because there are 186 landfills in the Republic of Belarus and only one of them has a gas collection system – Trostinets landfill in Minsk. Since Belarus is part of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, there are various plans to meet the agreement, including landfill gas collection systems.

The project covers:

- An analysis of the existing gas collection system in Trostinets landfill in Minsk;
- Collection and evaluation of information about Soligorsk landfill;
- Evaluation of the necessary capacity (technology, staff, etc) to take Trostinets landfill model and put it into practice at Soligorsk landfill and for the possibility of spreading this model to further landfills in the Republic in the future.

The aim of the project is to evaluate the possibility to use the existing system of landfill gas collection at Trostinets as a model for Soligorsk landfill.

Expected outcome
The documents for the project will be prepared in the form of an investment project of GHG emission in terms of joint designing and realisation.
