    Dr. Siad Darwish is an anthropologist and peacebuilder specialized in inclusion and environmental peace and conflict. Dr. Darwish is a research associate at the University of Melbourne’s Initiative for Peacebuilding and leads CDA Collaborative Learning Projects participatory research project on climate security.  As an independent consultant, Dr. Darwish has conducted research and given policy advise for the British Foreign Office, the European Union, UNDP, USAID, UNWomen, SIDA, and PricewaterhouseCoopers, amongst many others.

    Siad has taught at the University of Wollongong and contributed to research projects on peace and conflict at Deakin University. His academic publications have appeared in Development in Practice, Ethnos: A Journal of Anthropology, Anthropological Forum, and Cultural Anthropology’s Theorizing the Contemporary Series.

    Siad holds a PhD in Anthropology from Rutgers University, where he received a US National Science Foundation Grant, and an MA in the Anthropology of Development from the University of Sussex.
