Scholastica is a young environmental professional from Tanzania with a Master of Science in Integrated Environmental Management. She has a strong interest in climate action, sustainable land management, and ecosystem restoration, with a focus on practical, community-based solutions to environmental challenges.
She currently works on clean cooking transition initiatives in schools and host communities, contributing to reduced reliance on firewood and charcoal, improved energy access, and the protection of forest resources. Through this work, she engages with communities, local authorities, and development partners in planning, implementation, and monitoring of environmental sustainability interventions.
Her academic training and field experience have strengthened her understanding of the links between energy systems, land degradation, deforestation, and climate resilience. She is particularly passionate about promoting youth engagement in environmental governance and translating policy into practical action at the community level.
She has also participated in regional learning and leadership spaces, including the Africa Climate Academy in Ghana, where she gained exposure to climate finance, carbon markets, and environmental policy discussions. These experiences have enhanced her analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
She is committed to advancing sustainable and inclusive solutions that restore ecosystems, strengthen community resilience, and support long-term environmental sustainability in Tanzania and beyond.
