I am a practitioner and researcher specializing in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and climate change with a focus on strengthening adaptive capacity and integrating climate perspectives into community-based adaptation. I have over fourteen years of experience working in the South, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific regions. Currently serving as the Capacity Development Lead at the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) in Thailand, I play an important role in supporting training and capacity-building initiatives across the region. Throughout my career, spanning more than a decade, I have made significant contributions to disaster preparedness and climate resilience within organizations like the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), the United Nations Satellite Center (UNOSAT), and ADPC. I was one of the key members of the core drafting committee for the "Asia-Pacific Plan of Action on Space Applications for Sustainable Development 2018-2030," which was adopted by UNESCAP member states at the 3rd Ministerial Conference on Space Applications for Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok on October 10, 2018. Currently, I am also serving as a member of the Capacity Development Working Group (CD-WG) of the Group on Earth Observations (GEO), representing the ADPC. In addition, I also hold the position of Task Team Lead for Asia-Oceania Community of Practice (CoP) within the Earth Observation Training, Education, and Capacity Development Network (EOTEC DevNet). In terms of his education qualification, I have a doctorate in Applied Geoinformation and Earth Observation, a master's degree in Geoinformatics from the Faculty of Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation at the University of Twente, The Netherlands, and a bachelor's degree in Agriculture from Assam Agricultural University in Jorhat, Assam, India. He is a subject matter expert on drought and drought risk management and have contributed effectively towards drought risk management in the region.
