Rahul Teku Vaswani is a Climate Change, Finance and Sustainability Expert with an interdisciplinary academic background in engineering, natural resources, sustainable development and international affairs. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master of Natural Resources and Sustainable Development, and a Master of Arts in International Affairs.

He brings 22 years of professional experience supporting governments, United Nations agencies, climate funds, civil society and private-sector organizations across Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America and the Caribbean. As a former Green Climate Fund Portfolio Management Specialist, he managed 72 Readiness and Project Preparation Facility grants valued at USD 60 million across 48 countries, advised national institutions on climate programming and gender standards, and served on the GCF technology working group.

His practical experience includes developing gender and environmental and social safeguard policies, designing gender-sensitive capacity-building programmes, and supporting inclusive initiatives involving renewable energy, energy and water efficiency, early warning systems, climate-resilient agriculture, biodiversity conservation, electric mobility, waste-to-energy and circular economy solutions.
