Nastaran Nasiri

I am a PhD researcher in Water Resources Management at Shahid Beheshti University, with a Master’s degree from Sharif University of Technology. I currently work as an engineer in the Technical and Civil Engineering Department of Tehran Municipality, within the Department of Surface Water Channels and River Engineering, where I contribute to surface water management and flood prevention through the planning, assessment, and management of urban drainage channels and river systems. Previously, I worked as an engineer on water network systems and infrastructure projects, gaining practical experience in water-related engineering and infrastructure management. My academic and professional expertise spans water resources management, remote sensing, data science, environmental modeling, and natural hazard assessment, particularly droughts, floods, dust storms, heatwaves, and dry spells. I am also a member of the Women’s Committee of the Iranian Water Diplomacy Association, where I am interested in water diplomacy, transboundary water management, and the role of women in water governance. My work focuses on integrating engineering, geospatial technologies, data analytics, and emerging AI-based approaches to address complex water and environmental challenges and support sustainable and climate-resilient decision-making.
