Short Biography:
Maïmouna Diouf holds a Master 2 in geography specializing in environmental resources and development at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar. She is an expert in gender-energy and climate change. She has 10 years of experience on gender issues, particularly in the implementation and consideration of gender in energy projects and programs and the resilience of vulnerable communities facing the harmful effects of climate change, particularly in rural areas. . She contributed to the book “ Engendering the Energy Transition ” by being the lead author of the chapter “Gender and energy transition in the informal food sector in Africa”. She is currently coordinator of the project “Promotion of climate-friendly cooking in Senegal and Kenya” financed by the Green Climate Fund (FVC) and the BMZ and Enda Energie is involved in this project as Executing Entity in Senegal to facilitate access to improved cook stoves for households. She also implemented the study on issues relating to gender equity in Marine Protected Areas and sustainable mangrove management for the Community Marine Protected Areas Department of the Ministry of the Environment financed by AFD.
