Dr Ifeanyi-obi is a Senior Lecturer at the department of Agricultural Extension and Development Studies, University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. She holds a Doctorate degree in Agricultural Extension with research focus on strengthening farmers capacity to adopt sustainable environmental management practices while building their resilience to climate change effects.
Dr Ifeanyi-obi was a Post Doc research fellow of the United Kingdom Department for International Development under the Climate Impact Research Capacity and Leadership Enhancement (CIRCLE) Programme and a Research Fellow of the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences under their Fellowship programme for Women in Climate Change Sciences. She is a global fellow of the Center for Human rights and Humanitarian studies, Brown University, USA and a Fellow of West African Science Leadership Programme. Currently.
Dr Ifeanyi-obi has contributed significantly to providing credible evidence for informed policy decisions in Agriculture and climate change. No wonder she was awarded the 2021 Climate Smart Champion in Nigeria by the Nigerian Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (NIFAAS).
She has published over seventy journal articles, 6 book chapters, three policy briefs, two training manuals. Note worthy is her active involvement in ensuring a gender responsive agriculture policy that adequately provides for adoption of Climate Smart Agriculture practices in Nigeria. Towards this, she has convened as well as facilitated several policy discourse and Stakeholders forum. Dr Ifeanyi-obi has won several research and research uptake grants as well as consultancy to help strengthen rural dwellers knowledge and skill in the utilization of climate smart innovations and management practices. She is the National Coordinator of Society for Climate Action in Nigeria (SCAN)
