Please provide your short bio reflecting on your academic, professional and practical background

I am currently serving as a Research Scientist at Centre of Geoinformatics at Assam Don Bosco University, Assam, India. I am also serving as a Visiting Faculty at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India, where I teach “Geoinformatics for Environmental Science” to B.Tech and M.Tech students. In November 2025, I visited the Department of Environmental Science at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia as a Visiting Scientist. My work there focused on integrating satellite technologies with low-cost ground sensor data using machine learning algorithms to study transboundary haze and air pollution.

I have worked as a Postdoctoral fellow in Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences Nainital Uttarakhand India, April 2023 – Jun 2025. My postdoctoral research focused on understanding the impact of forest fire smoke emissions on the regional air quality of Northwestern Himalayan region during the pre-active-post fire season, by integrating multiple satellite observations, reanalysis datasets in machine learning algorithms.

I have also served Vasthi Instrument Pvt. Ltd. Hyderabad as Scientific Advisor for a short period of time (6 months, Jun 2025-Dec 2025). My work focused on calibration of low-cost PM sensors using ML algorithms and calibration of electrochemical sensors for measurement of trace gases, aerosol measurement instrument.

During my Ph.D. tenure, I focused on aerosol–meteorology interactions over the Eastern Himalayan region of India. I served as a research trainee at both the National Remote Sensing Centre (ISRO Hyderabad) and the Space Applications Centre (ISRO Ahmedabad) to advance my research objectives through hands-on experience in satellite data processing and geospatial analysis. Thus, I bring expertise in geospatial data analytics, leveraging advanced GIS and GeoAI platforms, Google Earth Engine, Python-based libraries, and machine learning techniques tailored for air pollution research.

Apart from research experience, I have recently delivered talk as a resource person at the Centre for Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences (CEOAS) Central University of Hyderabad on “Integration of ground-based air quality data with satellite data in ML algorithms for air quality monitoring and studies” in Sep 2025; North-Eastern Regional Institute of Water and Land Management (NERIWALM) in May 2025; Department of Environmental Science at Tezpur University on ‘Application of Remote Sensing on Air Quality measurement and Water Resource management using GEE’ in Oct 2024. I have attended workshop on ‘Regional air quality monitoring using numerical modelling techniques’ as a resource person jointly organized by ICIMOD Kathmandu Nepal and NASA SERVIR. Additionally, I served as a member of the organizing committee for the IASTA Conference 2024 during my postdoctoral tenure.
