    Ambe Emmanuel Cheo holds a Ph.D. in Environmental and Resource Management (ERM). He has more than 5 years’ experience working on topic related to water resources management, food security, climate change etc. In his Ph.D., he specialized in estimating water balance as defined by the EU-water framework directive and completed fieldwork focused on identifying and evaluating water resources management challenges and making policy recommendations. For his earlier studies, he focused on popularizing the implications of climate change on water resources to policymakers, stakeholders and vulnerable farmers; with the aim of influencing the decisions they make. At UNU-ViE, he has been contributing to research, capacity building and outreach activities in the frame of projects. His expertise is particularly relevant to Africa, where he has worked for several years in different projects and capacities. One of the projects he is currently coordinating is the “Agrophotovoltaic for Mali and The Gambia (APV-MaGa) project” that seeks to establish agrophotovoltaic as a sustainable energy system that provides food, water and electricity to rural communities while increasing resilience of the agriculture sector against climate change. In addition, Emmanuel is a Consultative Group of Experts (CGE) on National Communications for Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention related to the technical analysis of biennial update reports (BURs) from non-Annex I Parties under the International Consultation and Analysis (ICA) process.
