The IPCC Climate Change 2023 Synthesis Report highlights that technologies to limit global warming to 1.5°C already exist; the challenge is in building robust National Systems of Innovation (NSI) to support research, development, deployment (RD&D), and effective technology transfer. In line with the Paris Agreement, collaborative RD&D fosters innovation through partnerships between technology providers and recipient countries.
Hosted by the UNFCCC Technology Mechanism, the “Strengthening National Systems of Innovation for Collaborative RD&D on Climate Technology” session will showcase how the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), through its Partnership and Liaison Office (PALO) in Songdo, Korea, strengthens NSI to support climate technology deployment. The participants will get insights into best practices from the Technology Executive Committee (TEC) and explore how CTCN’s technical assistance fosters collaborative RD&D and advances national innovation frameworks.
The agenda for this event will be announced shortly.
