The solutions to the climate crisis already exist, and they are gender-just and locally driven. It is crucial to recognize that ambitious climate action cannot be realized without amplifying the voices of those directly confronting the challenges of climate change on the frontlines. To make them visible, we organize a high-level awards celebration during the annual global climate negotiations.

The Gender Just Climate Solutions Awards bring together environmental defenders worldwide who use gender equality and a women’s rights approach when implementing the Paris Agreement to fight the climate crisis.

Jointly with civil society and UN climate technology networks, we provide mentoring and support to bring these good practices to scale up.

“This program enabled us to raise additional funds to scale up our work on women empowerment and gender equality. It has motivated me to continue strategizing work on Gender Just Climate Solutions," says 2022 award winner Bhavya George.
