Venue: UNFCCC Capacity Building Hub, Blue Zone
This year, the Paris Committee on Capacity-building (PCCB) joins forces with the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) and the UNFCCC Technology Executive Committee (TEC) to address the capacity-building needs of developing countries in utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) for climate action. Held under the Technology Mechanism’s Initiative on AI for Climate Action, the ‘Capacities for Climate Innovation: Artificial Intelligence’ aims to explore the transformative role of AI in advancing climate adaptation and mitigation solutions, with a particular focus on the needs of LDCs and SIDS.
Participants will engage in knowledge-sharing on AI's potential to support climate resilience, gain awareness of initiatives under the UNFCCC and the Paris Agreement, and participate in interactive sessions showcasing real-world applications of AI in developing countries. The event will create a collaborative space to understand and expand AI’s role as a technological tool for scalable climate action.
