Universidad Mayor de San Andres

The Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA) was created by the Supreme Decree of October 25, 1830. It’s essential functions are: the generation of knowledge, interdisciplinary research, training and social interaction, through 13 faculties, 54 careers, 52 institutes and research laboratories and in 2021 management with 200 postgraduate programs. The main areas of research related to climate change are climate modeling, comprehensive management of water and soil resources, sanitation, health, agriculture, comprehensive management of forests and biodiversity.
