Capacity building and training

A country cannot mitigate or adapt to climate change without first strengthening skills and the knowledge to do so. The CTCN works with network members and local stakeholders to provide information, training and support to build and/or strengthen the capacity of developing countries to identify, maintain and adapt climate technology solutions.  Capacity building and training can enable decision-makers to initiate change on local and national level. As part of this effort, the CTCN strives to develop analytical tools, policies and best practices for country-driven climate mitigation and adaptation.   • CTCN Training Workshop on Technologies to Enhance and Monitor Soil Carbon for African Countries

    The Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) organized a three-day capacity development workshop on technologies for soil carbon enhancement in African Countries, in partnership with the International Centre for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF), a CTCN consortium partner. The workshop presented a collection of pertinent technologies and practices intended at enhancing soil carbon and having strong potential for low emission development and climate resilience in several African countries.

    The Kenya CIC is an initiative supported by the World Bank’s infoDey to support a greater climate resiliency in East Africa. KCIC offers incubation, capacity building and financing services to Kenyan entrepreneurs who are active in developing innovative solutions in energy, water and agribusiness to help mitigate climate change.
