Capacity building and training

A country cannot mitigate or adapt to climate change without first strengthening skills and the knowledge to do so. The CTCN works with network members and local stakeholders to provide information, training and support to build and/or strengthen the capacity of developing countries to identify, maintain and adapt climate technology solutions.  Capacity building and training can enable decision-makers to initiate change on local and national level. As part of this effort, the CTCN strives to develop analytical tools, policies and best practices for country-driven climate mitigation and adaptation.     GrAT is a research and development association developing practical solutions in the field of Appropriate Technology, renewable materials and energy sources, sustainable building, green business and product-service system solutions, resource efficient and cleaner production (RECP), climate change adaptation, and mitigation actions. GrAT conducted international development projects in South and South-East Asia, Far East, and Africa.

    REN21 is a global renewable energy policy network that connects a wide range of key stakeholders to facilitate knowledge exchange, policy development and joint action towards a rapid global transition to renewable energy. The REN21 Secretariat is located in Paris, France. Together, REN21 and REEEP established http://www.reegle.info, an information portal on clean energy policy, regulation and financing.

    Project Support Partnership Limited (PSP) is a private sector company established in 2011 in Barbados with the mission to provide project support services to the construction and property sector across the Eastern Caribbean. PSP has vast experience working with government bodies, private sector and NGOs. In 2018, PSP supported projects of the Coastal Zone Management Unit of the Government of Barbados, the Water Desalination Facility project in Barbados and White Hall Building project.

    The Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) is a global IP public institution that promotes creativity and enhances the value of invention. KIPA helps its clients develop innovative clean energy solutions through support in technology transfer, commercialization of patented technology, and IP education. It regularly combats climate change by hosting global expert-led dialogues and managing technology transfer projects in partnership with local cooperatives.

    The International Center on Small Hydropower (ICSHP) is a public and non-profit institution under the auspices of UNIDO, China's Ministry of Water Resources(MWR) and Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).  It serves as headquarters of the International Network on Small Hydropower(INSHP),an international organization with more than 470 members from over 80 countries.

  • Mine Reclamation Corporation

    Mine Reclamation Corporation (MIRECO) under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy is the only organization specialized in mine reclamation in Korea. Since its inception, MIRECO has contributed to restoring the environment damaged by mining operations and revitalizing the economy of abandoned mining areas.
