Capacity building and training

A country cannot mitigate or adapt to climate change without first strengthening skills and the knowledge to do so. The CTCN works with network members and local stakeholders to provide information, training and support to build and/or strengthen the capacity of developing countries to identify, maintain and adapt climate technology solutions.  Capacity building and training can enable decision-makers to initiate change on local and national level. As part of this effort, the CTCN strives to develop analytical tools, policies and best practices for country-driven climate mitigation and adaptation.     The National Environment Fund (FONAM) promotes and facilitates public and private environmental investments in the following sectors : energy, mining, industry and tourism, transportation and trade. Within these sectors, FONAM promotes technology transfer in the field of renewable energy, energy efficiency, cleaner production, sustainable construction, water, urban waste management and carbon footprint neutralization.

    Clean Energy Nepal (CEN) is an independent, non profit service oriented, policy, research and implementation organisation established in 1999 with a mission to educate and aware people on issues related to climate change, energy and other environmental issues and work for reducing air pollution and global warming impacts to natural and human system. It focuses on research based education and advocacy campaigns with policy inputs and implementation on issues related to sustainable energy use and environmental conservation.

    ICIMOD is a regional intergovernmental institution established in 1983 with the mission to serve the HKH region through information and knowledge generation and sharing to find solutions to critical mountain problems. ICIMOD bridges science with policies and on-the-ground practices. It provides a regional platform where policy makers, experts, planners, and practitioners can exchange ideas and perspectives towards the achievement of sustainable mountain development.

    Consortium for the Sustainable Development of the Andean Eco region (CONDESAN) is a non-governmental not for profit organization established in the year 1993 with the mission to mobilize the wealth of the Andes to overcome poverty and social exclusion. CONDESAN generate and share information and knowledge about the environment and rural Andean societies. It promotes policy dialogue with local stakeholders, national governments and regional bodies and strengthens human and institutional capital to promote the formation of new leaders in the sustainable development of the Andes.
