  • Alelyckan – Pioneering Recycling Park

    Alelyckan recycling park was developed as a pioneering facility, where objects perceived as waste are received, repaired, processed and sold on site.

    The park includes a thrift shop, a workshop for renovating furniture and bicycles, anda store for used building materials like windows, closets, tiles, WCs and even entire porches. Apart from bringing new life to objects and materials, the facilities also offer vocational training for unemployed people.

  • Fågelmyra recycling centre

    Fågelmyra is Borlänge municipality recycling center. This is where bulky waste is placed. Borlange residents sort their waste into containers or as hazardous waste. All containers are signposted and marked to facilitate the sorting.

    At Gimonäs Recycling Center the households can submit their bulky waste, garden waste and the hazardous waste at no additional charge. The municipal company, Vakin, owns and operates seven recycling centers in Umeå municipality and one in Vindeln municipality.

  • Cupric Oxide Recovery using EOCOR™ from Cupric Chloride Etchant Waste

    1. Outline Cupric chloride etchant waste is discharged from the print circuit board manufacturers. The etchant waste is characterized by a very low pH and high cupric ion and chloride ion concentrations. The EOCOR Process is an on-site recycling technology of the cupric etchant waste. And the product of EOCOR Process is cupric oxide which can be used as a raw material of plating process. For on-site recycling technologies one of the biggest challenges is to avoid chloride contamination.
