This report presents the findings from a research project that looked at the interconnections between water and climate change in the lower basin of the Mekong River in South-East Asia. The analysis indicates that climate change is likely to bring remarkable changes to the Mekong River Basin, with most remarkable impacts being felt in the longer term. Because a long-term perspective is required for climate change adaptation, broader socio-political and economic contexts and their future evolution need to be considered.
