The goal of this guide is to identify, review and highlight evidence demonstrating that sustainable land management (SLM) practices not only contribute to restoring ecosystem functions, but can also contribute significantly to adaptation to and mitigation of climate change in the context of Sub-Saharan Africa.
The guide is informed by reliable scientific studies, including results of field monitoring and long-term experiments. It focuses on "win-win" technologies that have multiple short and long-term benefits in terms of coping with climate change and restoring or maintaining ecosystem functions and services, including productivity and, thereby, contributing to sustainable livelihoods and rural development.
