Among the many effects of climate change are increases in the intensity and frequency of tropical storms, droughts and floods and sea level rise. This booklet describes the adaptation strategies and actions pursued by ADB and the international community in this regard. The strategies reflect key adaptation considerations for developing countries, such as country ownership, integrating disaster risk reduction and climate risk management, and a no-regret approach. Also presented are emerging trends in climate change adaptation strategies; e.g., blending of mitigation and adaptation, disaster risk management and climate change adaptation synergies, community adaptation tools and applied downscaled modelling.
