The 2013 installment of the International Energy Agency's (IEA) Tracking Clean Energy Progress series is the organization's official input to the Clean Energy Ministerial. It presents the organization's perspective on the development and deployment of key clean energy technologies in 2013. Technologies and sectors are compared to 2020 goals presented in the Energy Technology Perspectives 2°C scenario. Overall the findings are negative. Despite progress in the deployment of mature technologies such as solar photovoltaic (PV), onshore wind, biomass, and hydropower, the energy supply is not on track to meet the 2°C scenario targets. Areas of concern are the continued growth of coal-fired power generation, slow progress on industry and building efficiency, and low research, development, and development funding. The publication's website includes a wide array of downloadable data, visualizations, and a recording of the IEA's presentation of the report.
