Nepal faces unprecedented disaster risks. While hazards may be increasing in frequency and severity, their impacts are exacerbated by a series of dynamic processes including population growth, poverty, environmental degradation and impacts of climate change. This book documents the lessons learned during this project in the Chitwan and Nawalparasi districts of Nepal. It describes the prevailing physical, institutional and socio-economic context, and details the activities and its interventions. Communities, planners, academicians and practitioners are expected to benefit from this publication.
