Although India does not have policies or legislation in place as of February 2012 that encourage the development of carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies in India, the National Clean Development Mechanism Authority of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Government of India has begun executive actions to investigate its potential. This report analyses the role CCS would play in India if legislation were to be implemented as an aim to limit the country's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
