This paper provided a basis for discussion during a U.S. Department of Energy Clean Cities strategy workshop. It explores the current market status of ethanol (E85 - 85% ethanol, 15% gasoline) and flexible-fuel vehicles in the United States. The report also analyses barriers impeding significant deployment, marketplace opportunities, available federal incentives and emissions benefits.
