The development objective of the Eskom Renewables Support Project for South Africa is to facilitate accelerated development of large scale renewable energy capacity in support of the long-term carbon mitigation strategy of South Africa. This restructuring paper presents a simple restructuring to update the percentages of expenditures to be financed from the clean technology fund (CTF) loan to align them with the current financing plan for the project and to amend paragraph five of the appendix to the CTF loan agreement to include the African Development Bank in the list of co-financiers for part B of the project (concentrating solar plant) in line with the memorandum of understanding among the co-financiers. The change in the disbursement percentages is required to enable Eskom to access the CTF loan proceeds for reimbursement of eligible expenditures already incurred. A similar amendment of the disbursement percentages for sere and concentrating solar plant (CSP) under the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) loan is being processed in parallel.
