This publication by the International Energy Agency's (IEA) Solar Heating and Cooling Programme (SHC) documents the solar thermal capacity in worldwide markets, assesses the contribution of these systems to energy supplies and evaluates the carbon dioxide emissions avoided by the use of solar energy systems. The report includes data from 55 countries representing about 61 per cent of the world's population.
