Small Island States (SIDS) have long been noted to be among those countries least responsible for climate change yet most at risk from the impacts thereof. This document (extracted from a larger document by the working group II on  the fourth IPCC assessment)  discusses the vulnerability and sensitivity of small island states to the threats from climate change. It uses specific case studies from several countries that demonstrate attempts at adaptation in terms of infastructure and increasing capacity building.
