This report presents the key findings from a comprehensive assessment of the potential for savings from broader and more effective adoption of energy management across the European Union (EU). The authors outline degrees of energy management practice and effectiveness, and they discuss the barriers that energy management helps overcome. Current levels of adoption of energy management in European organizations and the associated trends are assessed and found to be low (e.g., just 1.5% of medium to large companies have adopted EN ISO 50001).
