The goal of this project is to reduce communities" vulnerability to the impacts of climate change, thus improving their well-being and protecting livelihoods. The project will promote mainstreaming or integrating vulnerability and adaptation to climate change into sustainable development plans and planning processes through pilot projects in Kenya, Mozambique and Rwanda. The objective of Rwanda"s pilot project is to improve management of hydropower potential. It will initiate policy change that supports implementing appropriate measures that safeguard long-term sustainability of hydropower use in Rwanda and in the region.
