This report presents facts and explanations on the price of renewable energies for electricity production in the Philippines. The underlining study demonstrated that there is much more to say about the price of RE than "too expensive" or "not competitive". The Study dispels several myths about Renewable Energy (RE) in the Philippines. The common misconceptions such as, renewables are highly expensive technologies, that the deployment of RE will increase the price of electricity and that RE will require massive changes in the energy system were tackled and proven to be largely inaccurate by the study. The study also took a closer look at the competitiveness of RE and their contribution to energy security in the Philippines. The readers will also learn about the non-energy related benefits of RE deployment and the anticipated impact of the approved Feed-in-Tariff of RE in the electric bills of the Philippine electricity consumers.
