This brief uses original modelling to provide the IISD view of the likely impacts of the proposed regulations to coal-fired power plants in Canada, including: the reduction of emissions, the cost of reductions, and replacement by natural gas. It also looks into the range of possible technologies which could be deployed to fill the gap.
