This document is part of a series of REDD+ Country Profiles designed to provide a snapshot look at the progress of a country to design and implement a REDD+ national strategy and its components. The profiles examine key components of REDD+ in each country, including: governance, tracking REDD+ Progress, achieving REDD+ and REDD+ for People and Nature. Each profile also highlights WWF planned REDD+ related activities in the country through 2015. Nepal is currently developing its national strategies and is engaging in the implementation of strategies and investments through piloting REDD+ activities. Nepal plans to initiate a subnational jurisdictional approach on REDD+. Nepal has also joined the UN-REDD Programme as an observer country.
