This reading list has been compiled to support DFID’s internal training sessions on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group II (WG II) contribution to the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report (AR5). The reading list is an annotated bibliography with a synopsis of content for each material and it is divided into three sections.

The first section contains a short list of pre-session reading materials. The second section is focused on resources to fill evidence gaps from a development perspective. While these resources are aimed at development practitioners, they are mainly drawn from grey literature. The third section contains a range of supplementary reading materials, mainly drawn from academic literature, that are designed to build and expand on the evidence base presented by WG II. They are grouped around the following themes: economic growth, poverty alleviation, food (including agriculture, livestock and fisheries), disasters, water, health, cities, human security and adaptation. Relevant resources for geographical regions and long term projections are also included.
