This report describes how energy challenges vary significantly among the subregions and countries of Latin America and the Caribbean—but the potential of energy production from hydropower, solar and wind resources in the region is substantial. The report provides an overview of recommendations on how to strengthen cooperative research, development and demonstration (RD&D) of renewable energy technologies in the region.
