The present document highlights the concerns of food security in India. It suggests cost reducing approaches that is sustainable and provides food, nutrition and water security to manage climate variability in an arid environment with case studies presented. And also it focuses on knowledge centric approach to rainfed agricultural lands. Thus, this document emphasizes for the national importance of rainfed areas.
