This report looks at the progress made towards the Green Climate Fund's aim of a gender-sensitive approach.

This report looks at some of the specific decisions taken at the 7th Green Climate Fund (GCF) Board meeting. It aims to address some of the questions around how the GCF is working towards fulfilling its promises of a gender sensitive approach to funding. The GCF was established by a UNFCCC decision in 2010 as part of the convention’s financing mechanism to “promote the paradigm shift towards low-carbon and climate resilient development pathways” in developing countries in the context of sustainable development. The report argues that climate change is not gender-neutral and that many women in developing countries are already severely affected.
