As part of a series of briefs published within a special series for the 2016 Pacific Energy Summit, this work concentrates on Canada's efforts to diversify its export markets by expanding to Asia. Canada is a substantial global energy producer and the largest single energy supplier for the United States. After the increase in domestic shale gas production in the United States, the market for Canadian exports fell steadily, prompting producers to seek new markets.
